Moldovan government streamlines health system’s organization, management

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ – All state medical education institutions, health insurance institutions, including public health care institutions, will be subordinated to the Health Ministry. An exception will be made by the institutions providing primary and departmental health care, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

A decision in this regard was approved at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers today, as to support the legislative initiative of a group of MPs.

This will give the Government the opportunity to organize and manage the health system in a more efficient way. Thus, the system will be geared to the needs of the population and create favourable conditions for the hospital care development, also for improving the healthcare quality provided to the population.

The heads of the public sanitary institutions will be chosen throughout a competition organized by the Health Ministry.
