Moldovan deputy foreign minister meets with European official

Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Daniela Morari, received Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), Jean-Christophe Belliard, on 10 July, being on a working visit to Chisinau on occasion of the 9th informal meeting of the foreign ministers of the Eastern Partnership states, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

During the meeting, the officials reviewed the main developments in the dialogue between Moldova and the European Union. In the context, Deputy Minister Daniela Morari reiterated Moldova's readiness to effectively implement the commitments deriving from the provisions of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement for the entire modernization process of Moldova. Referring to the opportunities for deepening the dialogue, the Moldovan official mentioned the importance given to strategic communication, being a priority at the ministry level, through the creation of a working group on this dimension, as well as on the government level.

Another addressed issue was the extension of cooperation in the field of foreign and security policy and the capitalization of the opportunities offered by European Union missions for the management of national experts and the strengthening of resilience at national level. The officials also discussed preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit, to be held in Brussels in November 2017.

The Deputy Secretary General confirmed the need to pursue Moldova’s modernization reforms, welcoming the determination of Moldova to implement the commitments stemming from the provisions of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, reiterating the European Union’s support in promoting those reforms.
