Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Yellow Code of heat, announced by the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS), expires today, after which a cool period of rain and electric discharges is expected.

Thus, according to the SHS’s forecast, within 12-19 July the thermal values will drop to 20ºC. The coldest will be in the north of Moldova, where on Friday, 14 July, the thermometers will indicate 20-23ºC. In Central and Southern areas, temperatures will fluctuate between 21-25ºC.

It is also expected rain and low temperatures throughout Moldova, which will fluctuate between 22-27ºC on weekend and early next week. At night, the thermal values will range between 10-17ºC.

According to the SHS specialists’ opinion, the weather conditions set and projected in the background are satisfactory for the growth and development of agricultural crops.

Similarly, the physicians warn that when warm summer days alternate suddenly with cold and rainy ones, there is a risk of "feeling more irritated, tired, even getting sick faster and worse." That is because, "a difference of at least 4ºC in a short time affects the body that generally needs 14 days to adapt to temperature changes."

To make it easier through these periods of sudden change of time, the family doctors recommend spending less time in enclosed spaces. In this way, the body is exposed to weather changes and trains its ability to adapt easier to it. An increased attention should be dedicated to the diet, taking into account the increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, the constant hydration and the administration of the necessary nutritional addings. It will also do to monitor health regularly, especially for persons with chronic diseases, elderly people and pregnant women.
