Moldovan republican clinical hospital to receive MDL 15 million for technical equipment

Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet of Ministers decided to allocate MDL 15 million for strengthening the technical-material base of the Republican Clinical Hospital, at its meeting today, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

However, there are to be distributed financial means needed to improve the technical condition of the hospital main block and increase the quality of the medical services provided to citizens, from reserve fund of the Government.

Also today, the Executive decided to rename the Republican Clinical Hospital to the Republican Clinical Hospital "Timofei Mosneaga".

Timofei Mosneaga contributed to the modernization of the Republican Clinical Hospital, working for 43 years in the position of chief physician of the institution and Minister of Health in 1994 – 1997. During this period, Timofei Mosneaga managed to organize highly specialized centres for diagnosis of diseases in internal medicine and surgery. Similarly, during his activity, for the first time in Moldova, there were opened departments of cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, urology, endocrinology, anesthesiology service.

The Republican Clinical Hospital started functioning at the end of 1817, initially having the status of a municipal hospital.
