Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ - The law on government has been published in the Official Journal of Moldova (Monitorul Oficial).

Under the document, the reform sees consolidating the responsibility of the public administration authorities through improving their management and ensuring the providing of quality public services.

Thus, as a result of the reform, the positions of deputy minister will be excluded and the administrative powers on the ministries’ activity will be exercised by the state secretaries, who, if necessary, will exercise also the interim duties of ministers.

The document describes the duties, powers, activity sectors of the government and regulates the way the interim duties of the prime minister, first deputy prime minister, deputy minister and minister are exercised. The act also establishes that, following the government’s reformation, the office of deputy prime minister on economic issues will be excluded. Another amendment provides for giving the PM powers to change the list of ministries, by a simplified procedure.

The document does not show the number of ministries due to work following the reform and neither of the agencies; yet, Prime Minister Pavel Filip has earlier stressed that the cabinet intended to work with nine ministries and 50 agencies starting from this summer.
