Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ – Mayor of Chisinau, Dorin Chirtoaca, remains under home arrest, after the magistrates of the Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal of the lawyers of the court today, who demanded his release and the investigation at large.

Dorin Chirtoaca was present at the hearing of the Court of Appeal. He said the decision of the magistrates would be unfounded. "There is no reason to keep the home arrest. The attorney's motivation was not taken into account. The prosecutor announced at the hearing that the criminal investigation was completed and presented our materials to get acquainted. At our part, we asked the judges to publish the file," said Chirtoaca.

Also today, during the hearing at the Chisinau Court of Appeal, Buiucani sector, magistrate Victor Ratoi stated that he refrained from examining the case of mayor, Dorin Chirtoaca.

The mayor of Chisinau was detained at the end of May by anticorruption prosecutors and officers of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA), suspected of having an influence on the paid car parks case.
