Moldovan commission for collective consultations, negotiations considers legislative initiatives in budgetary planning, labour field

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - The national commission for collective consultations and negotiations held a meeting on 20 July. The participants in the event discussed legislative initiatives in the field of budgetary planning and labour, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The participants in the meeting considered a draft of the medium-term budgetary framework (CBTM) for 2018-2020, unveiled by the Finance Ministry. The main estimations of this document refers to the annual increase in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 3.5 per cent in 2018 to four per cent in 2020, increase of imports and exports, rise of the average salary up to 7,300 lei in 2020. The CBTM draft was backed by the commission members, and is to be submitted to government for approval.     

The discussions were also focused on the adaptation of the national legislation to International Labour Organization’s No 81 Labour Inspection Convention. In this context, the representatives of the Economics Ministry stressed the need and importance to implement the reform of control institutions, in order to ensure their more efficient activity. The commission members agreed to hold additional consultations on this subject.   

The commission also examined amendments to the collective convention No 2 on working and leisure time from 9 July 2004. In this respect, the list of categories of wage earners for whom a working schedule of 12 hours is allowed, followed by a break of 24 hours, was extended. Specialists in the railway sector and providing of public utilities belong to this category of wage earners.   

To ensure the process of consultation in working out social and economic strategies and policies, the participants in the meeting approved an activity plan of the commission for the second half of 2017.
