Bucharest bans airship with Russian deputy premier Rogozin on board from overflying Romania

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - Romania today banned the airship carrying Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin from overflying its air space, the spokesperson for the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry has confirmed for HotNews.ro.    

According to the cited source, the airship flew over Hungary some time, after which it went to Minsk for refueling.    

At the same time, Russian Ambassador to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin told the TASS news agency that the Romanian authorities had not allowed the airship with Dmitry Rogozin on board to overfly the Romanian air space to reach Chisinau.   

“I was informed that the airship with Dmitry Rogozin was redirected and will land in Minsk,” Mukhametshin said.  

The Russian deputy prime minister was to come to Chisinau today to participate in more events in the Transnistrian region.

Dmitry Rogozin is one of the Russian officials who is banned from travelling to the European Union.
