Moldova, Hungary to boost cooperation in management of emergency situations

Chisinau, 2 August /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved the signing on an agreement between the governments of Moldova and Hungary on cooperation and mutual assistance in case of emergency situations, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The document’s goal is to increase the level of residents’ security and the degree of country’s safety in facing natural disasters, as well as man-cased disasters and regulates the conditions of collaboration and mutual assistance in the sector of prevention and reacting to emergency situations.  

Also, under the agreement, the sides are to carry out a string of actions, such as: exchange of experience, information and good practices in the field of prevention and management of disasters; organization and holding joint exercises to react to emergency situations and remove their effects. Other provisions of cooperation between the sides regard the organization of conferences, study visits, scientific programmes and professional courses.

In the context of developing the cooperation and providing reciprocal assistance in case of emergency situations, Moldova has signed bilateral inter-governmental agreements with Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Ukraine.
