Ambassador of Russia summoned to Moldovan foreign affairs ministry

Chisinau, 2 August /MOLDPRES/ - Ambassador of Russia to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin today was summoned to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) in connection with recent public statements made by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, the MAEIE information and media communication service has reported.

In particular, there was drawn attention to the interview recently given by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin to the TV station “Rossia 24”, in which he allowed himself to make defamatory criticisms of the Republic of Moldova and, implicitly, of the citizens of our country. In addition, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister made insulting appreciations of the authorities of our country, which have a denigrating and a lying character.

Unfortunately, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister is not at his first public appearance of such kind, which cannot be qualified otherwise than as brutal interference in the domestic affairs of our state. Moreover, such declarations do not fall into the nature of the bilateral relations that the Republic of Moldova wishes to build together with the Russian Federation based on mutual respect.

In view of these arguments, respectively the extremely negative impact of statements of the high-ranking Russian state dignitary on the image and prestige of our country both internally and externally, Ambassador Farit Muhamedşin was informed of the decision of the Moldovan authorities to declare Dmitry Rogozin as undesirable person on the territory of our country, with the application of the interdiction to entry into and transit the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

It is to be noted that this decision went through all internal institutional procedures and was communicated to the Russian side in accordance with the diplomatic customs.
