Meteorologists announce yellow code of storm in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) announced Yellow Code of electrical discharge and wind intensification for today evening.

According to meteorologists, between 17:00-22:00, short-light rainfall is foreseen. Northwest wind will present intensification of up to 15-20 meters per second.

At the same time, on 22 August, meteorologists forecast daytime temperatures down to +20 +29 degrees. At night, the air temperature will oscillate between +10 +18 degrees.

Cool, rainy and unstable weather will last until 25 August. At the end of the week, the heat will return, and the mercury of thermometers will exceed +33 degrees.

Until 31 August, the yellow code of hydrological drought, caused by the heat that led to the decrease in water level in rivers and lakes, is valid in the country. Meteorologists urge economic agents and people to rationally consume water resources.

In case of yellow code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous, predicted weather phenomena (rain, electric discharge, wind intensification, high or low temperatures, risk of flow increase and levels in rivers etc.) are common to the country, but temporarily may be dangerous for certain social and economic activities.
