Speaker offers awards for outstanding contribution to development of Moldova

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu offered “Medal of Democracy” and diplomas to personalities with remarkable results in development of Moldova on 27 August, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
“I am honored and with nice emotions I inaugurate a new tradition in the history of parliament. We will award annually distinctions to people who have managed with professionalism, courage and talent to change Moldova. Famous artists, modest employees, soldiers who defend peace away from our country, policemen, doctors, teachers and managers who bring change, doing their job excellent”, Candu said.
“Democracy Medal” was awarded to composer Eugen Doga, first speaker Alexandru Mosanu, Major Ghenadie Bulgac and official Oleg Ganusceac. At the same time, Diploma of Honor and diplomas of levels I, II and III. The 31 diplomas were awarded to professionals in various fields who managed to record performance in their work over time.
The speaker thanked the laureates for courage and abnegation. “We found during the 26 years that the political independence does not immediately solve all problems and does not make us independent economically, energetically or informational war. Liberation has not brought liberty, and freedom has left us no choice. We have to work, to risk and learn,” he said.
“People who have switched from electricity to opaque and then to smartphone in a single generation are persons who will never accept to wait for better times”. “I am proud such people are citizens of Moldova. You are Moldova. Now is the time to join forces to succeed the country”, Candu said.
The parliament’s distinctions were established for the first time this year, and the candidates of laureates have been submitted at the request of the parliament by public authorities.
