Chisinau, 07 September /MOLDPRES/ – The students of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) will be able to obtain double master degrees, according to a Collaboration Agreement signed in Chisinau by the UTM and two Romanian universities today.

The document was signed with the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and University Stefan cel Mare in Suceava. Thus, the students from the UTM will simultaneously obtain two master's degrees – the first from the Moldovan institution and the second from one of the two universities in Romania.

During the event, UTM Rector, Viorel Bostan, specified that that agreement would facilitate the synchronization of study plans between the three universities. "Today, we have laid the foundations for a very important new stage, as we offer an alternative to our students to be able to study at both the UTM and abroad. We are implementing this initiative starting with the second cycle, after which we hope to extend the project to bachelor and doctoral studies," said Viorel Bostan.

The Rector of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Mihnea – Cosmin Costoiu, said that the document signed today is very important for both UTM and the two universities in Romania. "We appreciate greatly the open collaboration between the educational institutions we represent. This agreement will be useful for the entire society, especially for the engineering development. We hope to be able to implement such programmes for young people who undertake their undergraduate studies, as well as to have a nice collaboration in other joint projects," said Mihnea – Cosmin Costoiu.

There are almost 10,000 students at the UTM.
