Moldovan, Turkish officials approach bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu participated with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ismail Kahraman in a reception organized by the Embassy of Moldova in Ankara on the 26th anniversary of the country’s independence, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
“I am honored to be at this event. Our states have strong historical and friendship relations. I wish you the best for a democratic and independent country”, Kahraman said.
Attending the event were over 200 guests, including ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic staff accredited to Ankara and Moldovans living in the capital of Turkey.
“I have a great pleasure to be here after a day of productive meetings, and I am very glad to see the united diaspora which promotes the values and traditions of Moldova in every corner of the world. Moldova is a young state that needs the contribution of each of us to speed up its development, create all the prerequisites to have a life we want at home in Moldova”, Candu said.
The guests have attended a cultural program, performed by musicians of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonics and dancers of the Joc folk dance ensemble. They also visited an exhibition of Moldovan cultural objects and popular costume and then served traditional dishes.
Candu paid an official visit to Turkey on 12-14 September, following an invitation of his counterpart, Ismail Kahraman.
