Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today chaired a joint government-parliament meeting, held in order to synchronize the agendas and priorities of the two institutions on the next period, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

In the beginning of the discussions, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that such meetings contribute to speeding up adoption of measures of Moldova’s modernization, in the context of the agreements and commitments on the external stage. “It is very good when we coordinate our actions. Proceeding from this practice, we have managed to achieve more goals we face, either we speak about the 2016 year or we speak about the first half of the 2017 year. I am glad that we managed to work out, at that time, a unitary action plan, a very good one, which helps us follow the carrying out of the actions,” Pavel Filip said.

In the context, the prime minister specified that, for the first half of 2017, the rate of fulfillment stood at 67 per cent. Fifty eight out of the 109 actions included in the unitary plan have been carried out. At the same time, Pavel Filip noted that the updating of the national action plan for the implementation of the Association Agreement with EU till 2019 would be initiated in next November. Filip emphasized that it is important to maintain the pace as to the enforcement of the Agreement.

The PM referred also to the actions stipulated for getting the macro-financial assistance on behalf of EU. Pavel Filip said that four of the ten conditions for receiving the first 30-million-euros-worth installment had been fulfilled, four are under fulfillment at parliament and another two ones are carried out by the government. Thus, there are no debts and the governance manages to fulfill all conditions in time.

For his part, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu said that joint goal is to check the impact of the norms approved and the carrying out of the roadmap on the priority reforms’ agenda, as well as of the legislative plan for the implementation of the Moldova – European Union Association Agreement. Also, the parliament speaker asked for the observance of the terms of laws’ approval, taking into account the procedure of consideration in parliament, noting that the submission of a draft in parliament does not mean that the ministry’s work is over.

The cabinet members and the heads of the parliamentary commissions also discussed the progress made and certain difficulties in the carrying out of the roadmap on the priority reforms’ agenda in the second half of 2017, as well as of the legislative plan for the implementation of the Moldova – European Union Association Agreement for 2017. They also analyzed the fulfillment of the commitments before the International Monetary Fund and set priorities for the next period in the joint government-parliament agenda.
