Moldovan foreign ministry provides info on aeroplane crash in western Africa

Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ – According to preliminary info got throughout the Embassy of Moldova in Paris, the Côte d'Ivoire's aviation accident occurred on 14 October 2017 morning at about 08:45 a.m. after a failed attempt to land the aeroplane at Abidjan airport, caused by the unfavorable weather conditions, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and interaction with press service has reported.
The collapsed plane flew for the French Army and had ten persons on board, including six citizens of Moldova and four citizens of France. According to data from the Ivorian authorities, four Moldovans died as a result of the accident and the other two were taken over by the French Army for medical care.
The Ministry maintains liaison with the Ivorian and French authorities to establish the identities of Moldovans involved in the accident and will undertake all the necessary required actions in similar situations.
