Deputy PM in Brussels says Moldova example of state that, despite challenges, made significant progress on European path
Moldova is an example of a state that, despite challenges, has made significant progress on the European path, developing a more sustainable, modern and innovative economy. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu has made statements to this effect. He participated today, in Brussels, along with Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, at the first EU Enlargement Forum, an event organized for the first time by Commissioner Marta Kos.
“It was an honor to represent Moldova at an event of such importance, a space where we reaffirmed our commitment to European values and our firm integration process,” said Eugen Osmochescu.
The deputy prime minister noted that the enlargement of the European Union meant greater investment opportunities for us, access to the European market and the continuation of essential reforms for building a competitive economy.
“Together with our European partners, Moldova is increasingly close to becoming a full-fledged member of the European Union, a decisive step towards a prosperous and stable future for our citizens,” concluded the official.
The EU Enlargement Forum, organized for the first time in Brussels by Commissioner Marta Kos, brought together leaders of EU institutions, representatives of member states and candidate countries, civil society representatives, entrepreneurs and public policy experts.
At the event, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu said that Moldova was ready to contribute to a stronger and more united European Union, and EU enlargement is a strategic investment in Europe's stability, security and prosperity.
