Grants of over 5 million lei for young people and migrants launching businesses in Moldovan capital
Twenty-seven young people and migrants from Chișinău have received grants for developing their own businesses. The grant certificate awarding ceremony took place within the municipal program STARTUP for Young People and Migrants, an initiative through which Chișinău city hall and the Municipal Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CMDA) support young people and migrants returning home to launch or develop their businesses.
Out of a total of 81 applications submitted, the first 27 beneficiaries were selected for non-reimbursable funding. The total value of the grants exceeds 5.25 million lei, and their planned investments amount to over 25 million lei, contributing to the economic development of the municipality. The new businesses will create approximately 252 jobs.
Mayor Ion Ceban highlighted the central role of the municipality in supporting the entrepreneurial environment.
"In two years, the CMDA program has reached over 10,000 beneficiaries of training, consultancy, and assistance. We wish for young people with creative ideas to stay home and turn projects into real businesses, bringing added value to the community,” he said.
