Moldova's sparkling wines in global elite: 20 medals, place in top 10 at Effervescents du Monde 2025
Moldova stands out internationally with another remarkable success in the wine industry. At the prestigious Effervescents du Monde 2025 competition, held in Burgundy, France, Moldovan sparkling wines won 20 medals — 10 gold and 10 silver, placing the country among the world's most valuable producers in this category.
The competition evaluated 393 entries from 15 countries, and Moldova managed to distinguish itself not only by the impressive number of awards, but also with a noteworthy achievement: securing a place in the Top 10 Best Sparkling Wines from Effervescents du Monde 2025, alongside renowned producers from France, Spain and Brazil.
The participation of our country was made possible by the National Office for Vine and Wine (ONVV), an institution that managed and financed the endeavor as part of programmes dedicated to promoting local wines on international markets.
This result confirms the rising status of Moldovan sparkling wines, the quality of production and their competitiveness on the global stage. This success consolidates the image of Moldova as a top wine producer and shows the potential of the national wine industry, which continues to gain recognition and prestige worldwide, concludes ONVV.
