Moldovan parliament appoints new member of Court of Accounts

The parliament today appointed Uliana Badarau as a member of the Court of Accounts for a five-year term. The decision was adopted with the vote of 58 deputies, and subsequently, she took the oath at the parliament’s plenum.

Uliana Badarau's candidacy was put forward by the president of the Court of Accounts following a public competition. At the same time, under the same decision, the parliament ascertained the end of Eduard Moroșan's mandate, whose term had expired.

Uliana Badarau holds a degree in law. She has extensive professional experience in the public sector, having previously worked at the Interior Ministry, the Agency for Consumer Protection, and the Ministry of Economy.

According to legislation, the members of the Court of Accounts are appointed by parliament for a five-year term, at the proposal of the institution's president, based on a public competition and with the majority vote of elected MPs.
