Moldovan parliament simplifies rules for entrepreneurs

The MPs today voted, in the first reading, on a draft law that introduces measures aimed at simplifying the way businesses operate in Moldova. The initiative belongs to members of the Action and Solidarity Party’s (PAS) faction.

According to the authors, the changes remove unjustified obstacles and clarify procedures regarding the calculation of state fees in the process of contesting public procurements. Starting from January 1, 2027, entrepreneurs will no longer be required to use the personal social security code, and the accounting of social insurance rights and obligations will be made based on the identification number of individuals or other identifiers from the State Population Register.

The draft also includes amendments to the Law on Vines and Wine. Producers will no longer be required to have a minimum space of 200 m² for wholesale wine sales. At the same time, the exploitation term of vineyards for market grapes will be reduced from 25 to 15 years, and for state-subsidized plantations, from 12.5 to 10 years.

The draft is set to be considered in the second reading.
