National power system operates stably and fully covers energy consumption

The National Power System operates within nominal parameters, ensuring continuity of supply and the necessary balance to fully cover the electricity consumption in the Republic of Moldova, announces I.S. Moldelectrica.

The operator clarified after some interpretations regarding the energy flows displayed on its official page. According to the company, these data represent instantaneous technical flows determined by the physical characteristics of the network, with no connection to commercial transactions between the power systems of Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

Moldelectrica urges media institutions to request up-to-date information directly from the operator whenever questions arise regarding the operating regime of the National Power System or energy flows.

The company notes that the electricity supply is carried out according to the forecasts of suppliers and the operational planning of the system operator, and the internal consumption needs are fully met. Dispatchers continuously monitor network parameters and intervene promptly to maintain frequency and voltage stability.

Moldelectrica advises end consumers to adopt responsible behavior, particularly during peak hours, emphasizing that optimizing consumption contributes to reducing pressure on the network and the efficient functioning of energy infrastructure.

The power system of the Republic of Moldova was under pressure following the massive attacks launched by the Russian Federation on Saturday against Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The strikes damaged an important power group in the region close to Moldova, and the interconnection lines reached almost their maximum loading limit.

As a result of exceeding the planned flow, the national operator Moldelectrica requested emergency assistance from Romania, a measure intended to stabilize the network and avoid the risk of overloads.
