Over 200 km of regional roads repaired in 2025
The National Road Administration /AND/ announced the completion of works on 206 kilometers of regional roads in 2025. The interventions targeted sectors with deteriorated road surfaces, and authorities claim that the repairs improve access for the population to public services, local institutions, schools, and other points of community interest.
According to the AND, within the Road Fund allocation program for national public roads, works were launched on 57 sectors, totaling 129.4 km, according to the program annex for 2025. In parallel, projects contracted in 2024 and completed in 2025 covered another 45 sectors, totaling 143.42 km.
Out of the 272.8 km planned for repair this year, 206 km have already been completed, and the remaining 66 km are to be finished by the end of 2025. The overall degree of execution of the works is 93%.
The Government of the Republic of Moldova allocated 1.21 billion lei from the Road Fund for the modernization of the roadway of regional roads. According to the authorities, the investments are crucial for improving connectivity between localities, increasing traffic safety, and enhancing comfort for thousands of citizens who use these routes daily.
The Road Fund annually finances repair and maintenance work on national and regional roads. The projects for 2025 are part of a multi-year infrastructure modernization program through which authorities aim to reduce accessibility disparities between urban and rural areas.
