Over one thousand tons of gasoline and about six thousand tons of diesel imported into Moldova in recent days
Over one thousand tons of gasoline and more than six thousand tons of diesel were imported into the Republic of Moldova during 13–15 March this year, through the Giurgiulești International Free Port, as well as by road and rail transport. The data were presented today by the Ministry of Energy.
Fuel stocks as of 13 March covered 19 days of consumption for gasoline and 9 days of consumption for diesel.
The Ministry of Energy urged car owners to use petroleum products rationally and to avoid purchases that are not strictly necessary, in the context of the state of alert in the energy sector caused by the war in the Middle East.
Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu stressed that the state of alert in the energy sector requires responsible consumption of petroleum products and called for the rational use of fuel and compliance with essential rules.
The Government declared a state of alert in the energy sector on 4 March for a period of 60 days, in connection with the external situation. According to the authorities, the measure is preventive and aims to protect domestic consumption and maintain the stability of the energy system.
