Parliament to review draft of new law limiting public procurement contract value
The value of public procurement contracts will be limited based on the destination of public funds. A draft law to this effect has been approved by the parliamentary committee responsible, aimed at transposing the European Parliament and Council Directive into national legislation.
According to the document, for works and social services, the threshold value will be one million lei, and for goods and services, it will be 600,000 lei. This will allow for greater administrative efficiency, fairness, and transparency in the management of public funds.
The document also contains provisions to reduce administrative barriers and eliminate disproportionate requirements that hinder fair access for economic operators to public procurement processes. Additionally, strict measures will be introduced for the publication and reporting of public procurement information, ensuring transparent and easy access to all opportunities and outcomes.
The draft law on public procurement will be proposed for review in the first reading in the plenary session of Parliament.
