The rehabilitation of the 37-kilometer Hâncești–Lăpușna–M1 road has been completed after more than 12 years of waiting, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan announced. According to the official, the works were completed on time and within budget.
The official mentioned that the road represents an important segment of Chișinău–Leușeni link, which provides a connection with Romania, and will facilitate travel for residents of Hâncești and neighboring localities.
“We have completed the rehabilitation of the 37 kilometers of Hâncești–Lăpușna–M1 road, a key segment of the route connecting Chișinău and Leușeni with Romania. The road was delivered on time and within budget,” the prime minister wrote on his page.
Vasile Tofan noted that before the rehabilitation, potholes and uneven surfaces forced drivers to travel at reduced speeds or take a detour of approximately 20 kilometers to reach Leușeni border crossing.
“They now have another modern route at their disposal. We are building Moldova literally, kilometer by kilometer,” the prime minister said.
