Trademark of Year and Quality Achievement Award competitions launched in Chișinău

Companies in the Republic of Moldova can take part in Trademark of the Year and Quality Achievement Award competitions, which were launched today by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI). Applications for participation in the competitions can be submitted until March 10 this year.

“Traditionally, at the beginning of the year, we launch these competitions, which are meant to support and promote local producers, both in the country and abroad,” said CCI President Sergiu Harea.

The Trademark of the Year competition, now in its 23rd edition, is one of the most effective tools for promoting trademarks on both the domestic and foreign markets. The grand prize of the competition is the Golden Mercury. To obtain it, trademarks can be entered in one or several categories, according to professionalism criteria.

“This award offers the winners notoriety and recognition for the work they do every day,” emphasized Sergiu Harea.

AGEPI Deputy Director Natalia Mogol said that Trademark of the Year has already become a tradition and a benchmark of excellence for the business environment.

“A competition through which we recognize and promote the most valuable brands from the Republic of Moldova. In a globalized economy, registering a trademark is no longer an option, but a necessity. A protected trademark offers legal security, facilitates access to new markets, attracts investment, and strengthens the long-term position of economic agents,” said Natalia Mogol.

The winners of the competition will be selected based on a consumer survey, as well as on the evaluation carried out by a team of experts. At last year’s edition, 143 trademarks participated in the competition, and over the course of the previous 22 editions, the competition has brought together more than two thousand trademarks, which have been promoted and supported.

Another competition launched by the CCI is the Quality Achievement Award for Goods and Services, now in its 12th edition. Its purpose is to recognize and reward companies that successfully implement quality management, while promoting the best practices in the industry.

The winners of the competition will receive the prestigious Goddess of Quality trophy, a symbol of high appreciation for the most effective management strategies and best practices in the field.

“Through this competition, the organizers promote the quality of products and services from the Republic of Moldova. If we want to access new export markets, we must have quality products, in accordance with international standards,” CCI head said.

At last year’s edition, 50 companies participated in the competition, and over the previous 11 editions, more than 545 companies have been awarded.

Applications for both competitions can be submitted until March 10.

Companies that wish to submit applications for the two competitions can consult all the necessary materials and documents on the official CCI website, in the competitions section.
