Moldova's PM, Ambassador of Turkey discuss bilateral cooperation
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has met Ambassador of Turkey to Moldova Uygar Mustafa Sertel. The discussions focused on developing bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic field and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
The PM appreciated the involvement of major Turkish companies in the implementation of infrastructure projects in the country, particularly the ones on roads’ rehabilitation. The prime minister emphasized that Moldova was in a continuous modernization process, in which the investment participation of Turkish companies is welcome.
For his part, the Turkish ambassador highlighted the growing interest of Turkish investors in such areas as renewable energy and bilateral trade, including by increasing export quotas for Moldovan products in high demand, such as wine.
An important field of collaboration is also education. Turkey continues to support educational institutions in Gagauzia, and a recent major investment is the construction of the "R.T. Erdoğan" Industrial College in Comrat, for which the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) provided 4 million dollars.
