PM has meeting with Ambassador of State of Qatar to Moldova
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today had a discussion with Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Moldova, Dr. Turki bin Abdullah Zaid Al-Mahmoud. The officials discussed expanding the bilateral partnership in various areas, with a focus on economic cooperation.
PM Alexandru Munteanu invited Qatari businesspeople to invest in Moldova, in such sectors as renewable energy, information technology, agribusiness, and infrastructure. "Moldova is in the process of joining the EU, and it is an opportune moment to invest now," highlighted the prime minister.
As for social contacts, the idea of launching a direct Chisinau-Doha flight was supported. Since 2022, a visa-free regime has been in place between Moldova and the State of Qatar, along with a driver's license conversion system.
