Over 12.6 million lei to be invested in 2025 in training programs for teachers in schools, kindergartens

Over 12.6 million lei will be invested this year to train 5,800 teachers in schools and kindergartens through Invest in Teachers and Invest in Educators programs.

The initiative aims to improve the professional skills of teachers, ensuring them access to high-quality training and relevant content for the challenges of the current educational system.

This year, most activities will be conducted in a physical format, with a focus on interactive methods and practical applications. The courses will take place within educational institutions, according to a flexible schedule, agreed upon with the teaching staff.

'This model ensures a balance between teaching activity and professional development, avoiding the overburdening of teachers. The thematic areas addressed in the training courses will tackle current educational challenges such as child inclusion and managing school diversity, classroom management and bullying prevention, teacher-student-parent relationships, and emotional intelligence development among others,' mentioned Marcelina Baleca, head of the general directorate at the MEC.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research, 70% of trainers will be practitioners with experience in the educational system, and mentors trained by the National Institute for Education and Leadership (INEL) will coordinate subsequent activities.

So far, over 9,000 teachers have already benefited from free professional training under the national program Invest in Teachers and Invest in Educators.
