Members of Foreign Affairs Committee of Seimas of Lithuania on visit to Moldova

A delegation of members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania is paying a visit to the Republic of Moldova on 23–25 February. The delegation is headed by Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee Remigijus Motuzas.

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the Lithuanian parliamentarians will hold meetings with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu and Speaker Igor Grosu. Discussions are also scheduled with Deputy Speaker and Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee Doina Gherman, Chair of the Friendship Group with the Republic of Lithuania Ion Babici, as well as with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Carolina Perebinos.

The visit’s agenda includes exchanges of views on parliamentary cooperation, European path of the Republic of Moldova and opportunities to expand the bilateral partnership in various fields.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Lithuania were established on 8 July 1992. To date, 49 bilateral agreements have been signed and are in force between the two countries.
