Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration says government to vigorously promote process of country's reintegration
The Moldovan government will vigorously promote the process of reintegrating the country, which has no alternative. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri has made statements to this effect, in the context of the emergence, on the left bank of Dniester, of anti-reintegration statements.
The official stressed that these actions are “staged by the Tiraspol structures.”
“In fact, we have recently noticed a surge of anti-reintegration events and statements, staged by the Tiraspol structures. The agitation and the manner in which these claims are promoted send a signal of uncertainty, if not of agony or panic. The frequency of these events and statements has highlighted a very simple fact: the reintegration process has reached where it had to reach and where it is most important to arrive – in the minds and hearts of the people. This creates growing discomfort for those who build their political and financial activity and existence on hatred and separation and, therefore, will continue to act in this way,” said Valeriu Chiveri.
Referring to the extension of the state of emergency in the economy by the so-called Tiraspol authorities, the deputy PM noted that, through this decision, the structures on the left bank of Dniester were trying to show that they “manage the economic situation or take all necessary measures to protect the citizens in the eastern districts”.
“There is nothing new. The extension of the state of emergency in the economy has been done periodically since December 2024. From a practical point of view, we do not consider that much is changing. However, we can notice more important elements. One of them is political and communicational. Through this decision, the Tiraspol structures are trying to demonstrate that they manage the economic situation and that they are taking all necessary measures to protect the citizens in the eastern districts. The second component we see is a propagandistic one, aimed especially outward, towards external partners, in order to promote the narrative according to which Moldova continues the economic blockade of the region. This is something we firmly reject,” the official said.
Valeriu Chiveri also stressed that, so far, “there has been, there is, and there can be no international cooperation with the participation of the Tiraspol structures, which illegally and temporarily administer the eastern districts of the country”.
“It is another example of manipulation and propaganda, in the style of those in Tiraspol. The occasional visits of our partners to Tiraspol include a set of objectives, the main one being the promotion of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, as well as the process of reintegrating the country. I believe you can also talk to our partners who visit Tiraspol and who will confirm this to you,” concluded the deputy prime minister.
