Moldovan president says Kremlin does not change attitude towards Moldova, risks to increase

The decision by fugitive Ilan Shor to suspend his projects in Moldova does not indicate a change in Moscow's attitude towards Chisinau. President Maia Sandu has warned that risks would increase and called for vigilance.

“I do not believe that Moscow is changing its attitude towards Moldova. Unfortunately, we would like to have a normal relationship and know that the Kremlin does not interfere with our internal affairs, but as we have seen in recent years and, including after elections, the Kremlin's attitude has not changed,” the head of state said at a news conference held following a meeting of the National Security Council.

The president noted that this attitude was not limited to Moldova, but was also reflected in Russia's relationship with other independent states.

“These risks do not disappear and, on the contrary, will increase because the methods of intervention are becoming more complex. We must be vigilant and systemically prepared,” Maia Sandu emphasized.

The Moldovan president also emphasized the plan of measures developed by the authorities for strengthening national security, aimed at protecting the country against external risks.
