Parliament speaker in Chicago says Moldovans' community in North America united, energetic, one of best ambassadors of Moldova

The Moldovans’ community in Chicago is the largest in North America, and its energy, solidarity and success serve as a model for the Diaspora worldwide. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has made statements to this effect during his visit to the United States.

According to the official, more and more young entrepreneurs born in Moldova are building their own "American dream" in Chicago, developing businesses, starting families, and proudly promoting the name of their country of origin.

"I was delighted to see how they managed, in just a few years, to build businesses, establish families and proudly carry forward the name of Moldova. They are the best ambassadors of our country," highlighted Grosu.

The parliament speaker noted mentioned that, thanks to the involvement of the community and its needs, the Moldovan authorities had managed to open a consulate in the region in a short time, thereby facilitating the Moldovans' access to quick and close consular services.

In discussions with the Diaspora, Igor Grosu talked about the political situation at home, about the efforts of Moldova’s gradual integration into the European Union, and about investment opportunities. The official listened to his compatriots’ concerns and ideas and assured them that the government would continue to be close to them.

"We talked about the political situation at home, about our efforts to gradually integrate Moldova into the European Union, about investment opportunities, about concerns, ideas, and plans because we want to stay close to them and support them as much as we can," added Grosu.

Grosu emphasized that, in recent years, the government had adopted more measures to stimulate investments in Moldova—many of which were suggested by the business community in the USA. In the context, the parliament speaker encouraged Moldovans in Chicago to continue investing in the country and told them that they were always welcomed back home and that the authorities would support their initiatives.

The delegation's agenda also included meetings with Moldovan entrepreneurs who succeeded in the USA. Officials visited Dynamic Investments, led by Vasile Sorocean, specializing in industrial space construction and heavy goods transport, as well as C1 Holding, a group with six companies in the trucking industry, with an impressive fleet and dozens of employees of Moldova.

Through his active presence in Chicago, Igor Grosu conveyed a clear message: Moldova relies on its Diaspora, on the strategic relationship with the USA, and on strengthening partnerships that support the country's modernization.

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu is on a working visit to the United States on December 2-10.
