MPs welcomed at today's meeting the decision of the European Parliament and EU member states to provide support to the Republic of Moldova, worth 1.9 billion euros. "We see who our friends are and how much they stand by us," Speaker Igor Grosu said.
The speaker said that the funds provided by the EU will be invested in the country's economy, villages, job creation and in all projects aimed at improving the living standards of citizens.
"We see who our friends are and how much they stand by us, especially in these difficult times. We thank them and promise to fully utilize all this aid," Grosu concluded.
The European Parliament and EU member states agreed on 19 February on a new support plan for the Republic of Moldova, worth 1.9 billion euros. The new facility is meant to accelerate Moldova's socio-economic reforms, strengthen resilience and advance its EU integration.
