PHOTO // Support worth 20 million euros on behalf of Denmark; Moldova to strengthen defense sector, mechanisms to counter disinformation

Moldova will implement a Danish support programme worth 20 million euros, in order to strengthen the defense sector, counter disinformation and enhance crisis management capacities. The issue was discussed by Moldovan officials and the delegation of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Folketing (parliament) of Denmark, on a visit to Moldova.

The Danish lawmakers had meetings with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Deputy Speaker, head of the commission for foreign policy Doina Gherman.

The officials discussed strengthening bilateral relations, the European path of  Moldova and leveraging opportunities to attract Danish investment in key areas, such as renewable energy, agriculture, education and technology.

The authorities also expressed appreciation for the constant support provided to Moldova by Denmark. In the context, the sides stressed that the new Danish support programme for Moldova, worth 20 million euros, would contribute to strengthening the defense sector, combating disinformation and improving crisis management capacity.

A delegation of the Foreign Policy Committee of Denmark’s Folketing pays a visit to Moldova. The Danish MPs visits the country February 22-24, this year. The delegation is headed by Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee Christian Friis Bach.
