Moldovan President about Russian attack on train in Ukraine: Those responsible must be held accountable

Russia must face sustained pressure, and Ukraine must receive continuous support to defend its people and peace in Europe. The message was delivered today by head of state Maia Sandu, after a passenger train was attacked by Russian drones in Ukraine.

The official emphasized that this attack violates international law.

"The train was carrying men and women going about their lives – civilians. The attack violates international law. Those responsible must be held accountable. Russia must face sustained pressure, and Ukraine must receive continuous support to defend its people and peace in Europe," Maia Sandu stated.

Five people were killed following a Russian drone attack on a passenger train in northeastern Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the action as an "act of terrorism" and called for increased pressure on Moscow.
