Speaker condemns politicians' remarks mocking drone crash in Florești district
Speaker Igor Grosu condemned the statements of politicians who mocked the crashing of a drone in Florești district. The official urged them 'to condemn the war and the intrusion into national airspace' and 'to remember they serve the Republic of Moldova'.
'To mock the falling of drones on our territory - especially when done by politicians and deputies in Parliament - is both serious and dangerous. Such narratives of ridicule align with the old tactic of undermining our institutions and diminishing the state of the Republic of Moldova. I appeal to such politicians to put aside notes sent by a foreign country and to think about the security of families in Moldova, as we all live here. Condemn the war, condemn the intrusion into our airspace, remember you serve the Republic of Moldova,' stated Igor Grosu.
Airspace surveillance systems from the National Army detected on the morning of November 25, six drones illegally crossing the territory of the Republic of Moldova, in the context of massive attacks on Ukraine.
Consequently, a drone with the inscription 'Z' crashed in an orchard in the locality of Cuhureștii de Jos, Florești district, on the roof of the guard’s house. The police intervened to secure the area.
Following the incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the violation of national airspace and announced that the ambassador of the Russian Federation will be summoned tomorrow at 2:00 PM to provide explanations regarding these actions considered unacceptable.
