Accurate information matters: Government and Police platforms for verified news
In a period when the volume and speed of information can overwhelm any citizen, it is increasingly difficult to distinguish between real data and fake content created to mislead, incite panic or divide communities. In this context, it is essential to rely on official information sources, which provide verified and accurate data communicated directly by the relevant institutions, according to a Government press release.
The authorities recommend using official platforms to gain quick access to reliable information and to be able to react appropriately in situations of public interest:
• The Government of the Republic of Moldova provides official information through several digital channels. For Facebook users, a messaging channel has been created for direct updates: Messenger Government of the Republic of Moldova.
• For those who use Telegram, the Government has launched the official channel “Prima Sursă” (First Source), where official news and announcements are published in real time.
• Viber users can access official information via this link. It is recommended that older relatives also subscribe in order to have access to accurate and timely news.
In the field of public security, the Police of the Republic of Moldova provide useful information on preventing incidents and protecting citizens. The institution’s official Telegram channel is “Poliția RM”.
Communication and security specialists recommend sharing these sources with friends or relatives, to facilitate everyone’s access to accurate information and to reduce the spread of rumors and disinformation. Access to official data not only prevents unnecessary panic but also helps build an informed and responsible community.
Thus, using official sources becomes an essential tool for personal and collective protection in the face of the massive flow of unverified information.
