Anti-corruption prosecutor of Moldova passes external evaluation

An anti-corruption prosecutor, Vitalie Codreanu, has passed the external evaluation. The evaluation commission has submitted the report to the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP).

The report will be made public after its consideration by the CSP, the adoption of the respective decision and the expiration of the legal appeal period.

During the evaluation procedure, Panel A of the Commission thoroughly examined relevant information regarding the prosecutor's ethical and financial integrity. At the same time, the panel asked for clarifications through two rounds of written questions, to which the subject of the evaluation provided answers.

The doubts identified by the panel were communicated to the prosecutor and later discussed during the public hearing.

The Superior Council of Prosecutors is to decide on the Commission's proposal in a 30-day period.
