Anti-corruption prosecutors Vitalie Ivanov and Victor Cazacu heard as part of integrity assessment
Vitalie Ivanov and Victor Cazacu were interviewed as part of integrity assessment of anti-corruption prosecutors. Vitalie Ivanov submitted the requested documents and no doubts were identified regarding compliance with integrity criteria, while Victor Cazacu was interviewed for the second time, providing additional explanations regarding the discrepancies between income and expenses, assets owned and loans obtained.
In the case of Vitalie Ivanov, Panel B of the Commission analyzed the presented documents and information, concluding that there are no doubts regarding compliance with the integrity criteria set by Law 252/2023. The prosecutor answered all questions and presented the requested documents, with the report to be approved in the absence of new information.
Victor Cazacu was audited for the second time, after the first evaluation did not meet the necessary unanimous votes for report approval. In the second round, the Commission requested additional explanations regarding the discrepancies between income and expenses, assets and properties held, as well as loans obtained. The prosecutor provided the necessary clarifications and presented evidence to support his statements.
“I hope I was explicit enough regarding all the Commission's doubts and I express my appreciation for the work done,” said Victor Cazacu at the end of the hearing.
These auditions are part of the periodic evaluation procedure of anti-corruption prosecutors, intended to ensure transparency and integrity in the exercise of public functions.
