DOC // Moldovan President appoints new judges
The decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu appointing several judges to office until reaching the age limit has been published in the Official Journal and has come into effect.
According to the presidential decree, Marianna Boico, Constantin Bragoi, Nadejda Cimbir, Inga Darii, Irina Moraru and Marcela Vitvițchi will work at Chișinău Court.
Tatiana Brumă and Olga Marandici will be at Strășeni Court, Dorin Casapu and Stepan Epure at Criuleni Court, Tamara Crinițcaia at Soroca Court, Grigorii Damaschin and Gheorghe Popa at Căușeni Court, and Dumitru Efros at Hâncești Court.
According to the Law on judicial organization, the judicial system in the Republic of Moldova provides for 504 judge positions for all courts. A recent report shows that about 20% of the total 504 magistrate positions are vacant nationwide.
