Government approved extension of energy compensation for all families in Moldova
Families in the Republic of Moldova will continue to benefit from electricity compensation. The government decided today to extend the support for November 2025.
In this context, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu thanked European partners for the support provided during the period when energy resource prices significantly increased.
“We all felt the energy shock when prices increased substantially, and the support of European partners allowed these compensations,” declared Alexandru Munteanu.
The decision approved by the government will allow all households in the country to continue receiving compensation for the first 110 kWh consumed.
“Since the beginning of this year, the government has supported reducing electricity bills and we continue to offer compensation in November for bills coming in December for all families in the Republic of Moldova,” emphasized Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru.
The compensation program was launched in February 2025 and is valid throughout the year. Electricity compensation is automatically provided in the bill, without any actions required from consumers.
According to the authorities' estimates, the projected cost for November 2025 is about 115 million lei. The measure targets all domestic consumers in the country – approximately 1.2 million households.
The support is made possible with financial support from the European Union.
