Hearing in Constantin Tutu's case postponed in Moldova

The hearing in the case of Constantin Tutu, suspected of fraud, influence peddling, illicit enrichment and false statements, which was supposed to take place today, has been postponed.

According to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Tutu was expected to give his final statement in the case today, but his lawyer submitted a request on his behalf, asking for the postponement of the hearing, in order to allow him the right to deliver his final statement in person.

The court granted the request and scheduled the next hearing for November 26, at 11:00.

The former parliamentarian is being investigated for influence peddling and illicit enrichment. Initially, his cases went to court in May 2020 and November 2021 and were later combined into a single case, currently examined at the Chisinau Court.

The ex-deputy was put on international search on September 24, 2025, after failing to appear for a court session. Constantin Tutu was detained in July in Athens, along with the former leader of the Moldovan Democratic Party, Vlad Plahotniuc. He was released by the Greek judiciary on September 3, 2025.
