Moldovan police announce detention of another suspect in case of planned assassinations in Ukraine

Another member of the criminal group involved in preparing the physical liquidation of public figures from Ukraine has been detained in Moldova. The suspect is a 36-year-old man. Law-enforcement officers are carrying out criminal investigation actions in his case, in order to establish all circumstances of his involvement in the case.

Judges from the Chisinau Court, Centru office, have ordered 30 days of pre-trial detention for three people detained in Moldova in the same case.

Among those arrested, there is a man who, according to investigators, allegedly convinced more defendants – seven of whom were detained in Ukraine – to get involved in the criminal scheme. A woman and a man detained in Moldova have also been placed in pre-trial detention.

In total, 12 people have been detained in Moldova and Ukraine in a case that concerns a scheme to assassinate important figures in Ukraine. Three men persuaded to commit murders, as well as their recruiter, were detained by Moldovan law-enforcement officers. Another seven people who allegedly accepted the recruiter’s offer were detained by the Ukrainian authorities.
