Pensions and other social benefits for Moldovans settled in Croatia
Moldovan citizens settled in Croatia will be able to benefit from pensions and other social benefits. The National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) is currently holding the first round of negotiations in Chișinău regarding the draft Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Croatia in social security.
The negotiations involve experts from the respective authorities in the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CNAS, and the National Council for Determining Disability and Work Capacity.
The purpose of the document is to ensure a framework of social guarantees for migrant workers from the Republic of Moldova who have worked or are working and reside in the territory of one or both contracting states.
Based on the Agreement, citizens of the Republic of Moldova will benefit from age-limit pensions, disability pensions caused by general illnesses, disability pensions and allowances resulting from work accidents or caused by occupational diseases, and survivor’s pensions.
According to official data, 150 Moldovan citizens permanently reside in Croatia.
So far, the Republic of Moldova has signed Social Security Agreements with 20 states, 18 of which have come into force and are applicable. It is about: Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Austria, Estonia, the Czech Republic, the Kingdom of Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Germany, Turkey, Belarus, Italy, Greece, Spain and Latvia.
