Prime Minister joins national campaign - 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu joins the national campaign - 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. The official noted that gender violence is a global issue that can only be tackled through joint efforts.
'I thank all colleagues who have been involved. You have launched a very important campaign. (...) Yesterday I was absent, but I joined this campaign together with my family and friends. It's a vice that must be fought. We can all do this together, with our families, our communities. It's a global problem. On our path to the EU, it's important not to forget the basic principles: tolerance and respect,' said Alexandru Munteanu.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister urged citizens to join the campaign. It was launched on 25 November in Chișinău, Bălți, and Cahul under the slogan 'Moldova without Violence'. The central theme of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence is digital violence - an increasingly common form of abuse manifested through harassment, threats, distribution of images without consent, blackmail, or hate speech.
Under the complementary slogan #NOEXCUSES for digital violence, the campaign promotes a culture of respect both online and offline, encouraging behaviors based on dignity, responsibility, and empathy. The campaign will conclude on 10 December, the International Human Rights Day.
