Two magistrates fail external evaluation; Moldova's Superior Council of Magistracy to consider Vetting Commission's reports
The Judges Evaluation Commission has completed the evaluation procedure for three judges and approved the corresponding reports, which today were sent to the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) for analysis and final decisions.
Following the evaluation, the Commission found that judge Sofia Ghidirim (Aramă) from the Cimislia Court did not pass the evaluation and judge Radu Turcanu from the Chișinău Court also failed the evaluation. At the same time, judge Sergiu Stratan from the Chisinau Court, Buiucani headquarters, and candidate for the position of judge at the Supreme Court of Justice, passed the evaluation.
According to the procedure, CSM will examine the reports in a public session and decide on their acceptance or rejection.
The evaluation reports are not public at the current stage. They become public within three days after the expiration of the contestation period or after a final decision of the Supreme Court of Justice is pronounced.
