UPDATE: Power supply restored at all customs offices, border crossing points of Moldova
Update 13:20: At this time, power supply was restored at all customs offices and border crossing points, the Customs Service and the Border Police have reported.
"Work to eliminate the technical faults is ongoing, which is why customs procedures are still being carried out temporarily in manual mode, in order to ensure the smooth flow of cross-border traffic," the Customs Service specified.
Initial report:
The Border Police inform participants in cross-border traffic that, in the context of an emergency disconnection of the power system caused by technical problems in the regional electricity network, power supply has been temporarily interrupted at more border crossing points.
To ensure continuity of operations, the authorities have put electric generators into operation. At the same time, technical difficulties have been registered at the central headquarters of the Customs Service, which may temporarily hit the conduct of certain operational processes.
Under these circumstances, in order to avoid blocking the crossing of the state border, customs procedures for people at the crossing points are being carried out temporarily in manual mode.
The authorities call on traffic participants to show understanding. The specialists in charge are intervening to remedy the situation.
