VIDEO // Four young people investigated for fictitious car sales from USA

Four young people have been detained for scams related to the fictitious sale of vehicles brought from the USA, with damages amounting to about 500,000 dollars. They were detained by officers of the INI's Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, with the support of PCCOCS prosecutors and BPDS 'Fulger' special forces.

According to investigators, the suspects allegedly created several fake websites offering various means of transport such as retro vehicles, cars, agricultural machinery, trucks, and tractors for potential clients in the USA. Advertisements were disseminated online, and interested parties were directed to call centers where the young individuals falsely presented themselves as 'sales representatives' or 'authorized agents.'

The damage caused by this scheme, committed over approximately three months, is estimated at around 10 million lei.

The investigation continues to identify all individuals involved and recover the funds obtained illegally.
